DevOps: lots of components, all strung together, provisioned dynamically, onboarded en masse, distributed globally, amongst myriad providers. Is this the panacea of web application development?

But hold on a second. It’s not just web applications. That also sounds like the Internet of Things! IoT projects can also start with an idea, spare time, a couple of prototyping boards, and solder smoke. Unlike web applications, this proof of concept cannot simply be released into production though; and that’s undeniably a good thing!
